I earned my degree from Radford University in sociology and brought with me to Embrace more than a decade of experience working with children in the community setting. I am married and have three beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and also love to read when I can find the time. I am passionate about giving back to the community I grew up in, helping children and families in the process.
Parent Trainer and Case Manager
I am a case manager with Embrace. I hold a bachelor's degree in social work from Radford University. When I am not working, I like watching movies, hanging out with family and friends, and doing crafts with my niece. I have two four-legged fur-babies named Chance and Cody. I believe life is a musical and that every moment has a song.
I am originally from Stafford, Virginia. I went to school at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia and received a B.S. in sociology. During my time in school, I worked for the Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity. I moved to the Roanoke area after graduation to work in foster care for the Roanoke County Department of Social Services. After three years, I decided it was time for a change and came to work at Embrace in January of 2015. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, friends, and family. I also enjoy fishing, hiking, and rooting for all my favorite sports teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, Phillies, and driver Denny Hamlin.
I graduated from Roanoke college with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. I have worked for local department of social services for the last 7 1/2 years. I have worked with adults and children in protective services. I just got engaged to the love of my life. In my spare time I love to knit and have three dogs that are my children.
I am a dedicated case manager within Embrace. In my spare time I like to read, knit, cook, play video games, and spend time with my kitty, Riff Raff. I am passionate about helping children be happy and healthy, and to reach their full potential.
"Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work." -John Trainer, MD
I am the Foster Parent coordinator for the Roanoke office. I have a bachelor's degree in social work and many years of experience working as a foster care social worker for a local DSS. I love matching children with families and look forward to each and every referral for new placements or new families! When I am not working, I enjoy reading, playing with my own kids and seeing new places.
