How did you get into the human services profession and come to work for Embrace? I've been in this field in some shape or form since earning my bachelor's in psychology a LONG time ago. In 2011 I worked as a foster care worker with Winchester DSS for four years while earning my masters degree in counseling. Since that time I've transitioned to NCG where I first worked as a TDT counselor, then as a clinical supervisor. When this position became available through Embrace, I felt that it was a perfect fit in regards to my experience and my passion for working with families involved in the foster care system.
What, for you, is the toughest part of the job? There is no easy fix when working with others, particularly youth who have encountered and endured trauma.
What is the most rewarding part about your job? Being part of the solution for our kids and families.
What's something you like to do for fun outside of work? I love spending time with my daughter and husband! I also love outdoor activities like running and hiking.
